EMDR consultation helps you refine your EMDR skills, gain support, and receive feedback from an EMDRIA-approved consultant. It’s essential for EMDR certification and continuing your professional growth. Whether you’re a new therapist or experienced, consultation helps you build confidence and ensures you're providing the best care for your clients.
-
To become an EMDRIA-approved consultant, you need to complete specific training, accumulate consultation hours, and demonstrate competency in EMDR therapy.
As part of your CIT journey, I offer structured EMDR consultation groups and one-on-one mentorship to help you achieve this milestone.
-
EMDR consultation groups are collaborative spaces where EMDR therapists meet to discuss cases, share experiences, and receive feedback from an EMDRIA-approved consultant. These groups provide ongoing EMDR support and a chance to connect with other therapists.
The structure of groups are usually each participant has at lesat 15 minutes to discuss an area they are really struggling with or a specific client case you need support with. Then if we have time, we can run through a resource or anything that might be helpful for the group. Groups for CIT have a maximum of 4 participants.
Groups for EMDR Certification have max for 1 hour (4 people) and 2 hours (8 people).
-
You will need 20 consultation hours as part of your EMDR certification process. These hours can be completed through one-on-one sessions or EMDR consultation groups, but 10/20 must be individual consultation. Also at minimum 5 hours need to be from an Approved Consultant (which I am). I offer flexible packages to help you meet your certification requirements.
Visit EMDRIA’s website and FAQ page to learn more about the EMDR certification process.

Yes! You can absolutely join a group and we would love to have you! The groups are designed to help you grow at any stage of your EMDR practice. However, you aren’t able to count those hours towards your EMDR certificate if that’s what you plan on doing. Hours towards certification only happen after you’ve completed the Basic Training and the 10 hours of consultation for basic training.
